A father kills his own daughter who happened to know about his illicit relationship with another woman.

There is another argument too- He has an alibi saying he killed her because she was sexually close to their servant.

*****************************************************************************************************************

Does this sound like some crime reporter on a local news channel? Pardon me if it does. I wanted to start off with a list of incidents and details I was aware of them. Though it seems like only the criminal directly involved is responsible for such bloody events, there are many things(?) that are indirectly more relevant causes for these to happen.

  1. Negligence of school authorities
  2. Nonperformance of crime control officers
  3. Carelessness of Government
  4. Negligence of parents
  5. Ignorance of victims
  6. Fear in the affected
  7. Lack of responsibility in public
  8. Lack of fear of law in crooks
  9. Inability of the affected to fight for justice
  10. Last but first, media which explicitly shows incest and lust.

I can go on with number of such reasons.

But, now I ask myself.. “Am I living in a civilized society? “

“Is there something on this earth that is impeccable and is not responsible for these to happen?”. If you happen to find one such a thing, please tell me.

PS:- Coming next is a post that contains the ideas and thoughts I could think of to prevent such things in coming future.

One Response to “Are “we” civilized? -I”

  1. Scene 10 :
You’re probably talking about Aarushi Murder case, which took place in Noida.
Firstly Dr. Talwar didn’t kill Aarushi (the DIG and other cops made up a horrendous story for which they were suspended).
    Secondly CBI confirmed the same!

    Scene 8 :
I don’t think this scenario can not be technically classified as “crime”.

We are indeed living in a civilized society. At least in my case, the incidents that happened didn’t happen in my society!
If you’re talking of increase in crime rate, then there have been worse scenarios than the ones you just mentioned.
For instance, check out these links and you’ll know why India is still a great place to live in:
    http://www.news.harvard.edu/gazette/2008/04.17/11-congo.html
    and
    http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/07/22/sarajevo.rape/index.html
I agree that the incidents mentioned above are brutal but I can assure you that you are still living in a better society. Things are worse outside.
